Video Description

The video shows a woman standing in a white gown and signing. The video is largely silent, with the exception of what sounds like machinery whirring in the background. Words and images are projected over her and the wall behind her. Text on the screen reads “HISTORY RECOUNTED THROUGH A COMPELLING USE OF DIGITAL TECH.” The woman continues to sign as drawings of airplanes are projected over her. Images of wheat appear behind her and the woman mimes harvesting the wheat. Text on the screen reads “A GLOBAL ATROCITY, UNFURLING BEFORE OUR EYES.” Images of the woman are interspersed with clips of other people emotionally signing. At one point a drawing of piles of stick figure dead bodies is projected over the woman. The screen reads “DEAF SURVIVORS. THEIR UNTOLD STORIES. TOLD FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME.” More videos of other people signing. The woman mimes rocking a baby. “UNFORGETTABLE…” The symbol for the atom is projected and disappears as the women mimes an explosion.
