Image Descriptions

"Orange Wheel of Time" Description: This abstract hand drawn work features large overlapping, sometimes concentric circles. The image makes use of only two colors: orange and yellow. At every point where the circles overlap, the artist changes pattern to fill in the resulting shape. He alternates among three patterns. One features orange dots of varying sizes with yellow surrounding the dots. Another pattern depicts triangular, feather looking shapes, at times radiating out from the center of a circle and in other instances moving in a straighter pattern from one side of the shape created by overlapping circles to the other side. The final pattern Jamin uses involves repeating, elongated, trapezoidal shapes which again radiate from a single point.

"St Martins" Description: This edited photographic work features an image that has been reproduced four times. The image has been mirrored right to left and up and down. The effect is an image with tree lines of symmetry: horizontal, vertical and diagonal. The repeated photo depicts the silhouette of a building that has multiple spires topped with crosses. The silhouette is very dark, making it impossible to discern many details of the building, however one can see a golden clock face on the sides of the images closest to the center to the work of art. The viewer can also see what appear to be sun beams in triangular shapes on either side of the center of the artwork. The background is a circular gradient with the color shifting from white in the center to a sky blue around the outside.

"Woodland Deer" Description: The background of the top two thirds of this work of art features a photograph of a dirt pathway with green grass and rows of leafy trees on either side. The background of the bottom third of the work forms a gradate of shades of grey with the left side darker than the right. Using paint pens, the artist has drawn a large circle in the center of the piece, which overlaps both the photo of the pathway and the grey gradient. The image includes a horizontal line further dividing the photo from the gradient. Above this line, is the outline of a moose. The moose is outlined first in black and then along the inside of the black line using a red paint marker. Similarly, around the moose's head is a smaller circle that is oulined in yellow and then again in black. The part of the large circlr that overlaps the photograph features both the outline of circles and circles that are filled in with white. These circles are more condensed on the right side of the moose. Around the part of the circle that covers the gradient, the author has drawn green and black lines which radiate to the outside of the image. The artist used a black paint pen to create a frame around the outside of the work. Finally, horizontally at the very bottom of the piece is a series of identical white rectangles.
